Statement Lovin'

Big chunky statement necklaces are the new trend of the hour. We didn’t want to stay behind on the fun so here is a way to style these necklaces without over-powering anything to the eye.

Shirt - Madame
Jeans - Only
Wedges - Bruno Manetti
Necklace - Zotiqq

For the first look we have a statement piece shaded within cool colours. Looking at the necklace I get a colour rush! To tone everything down we just paired it with a crisp white shirt and a zipper detailed denim. To give it a tad bit more colour we paired wedges that were within the same colour group of the necklace. We kept the accessories to a bare minimum so as to the necklace could be the standout piece. This outfit can easily be worn for any kind of relaxed outing. This is more of a day look.

Leggings - Zara
Top - Sisley
Heels - Primark
Necklace - BG's
Rings - Forever 21, Flea Market

For Akshita’s look we went for a more textured look with mixing the faux leather and the neckpiece one on one. The neckpiece combines two of our favourite trends – Neon colours and Statement Necklaces. We went for the classic ‘all black’ look to give it an edgy look and to give the neckpiece the highest position on the podium. Again, with the accessories, we kept it to a bare minimum. Whenever you feel the need to unleash your wild side, add a good smokey eye and you’re good to go!  This is more of a night-time look.

Hope this inspired you to take bold steps with your accessories! Keep reading!  :)

Freedom?

As we just celebrated Independence Day, we both started discussing about various things and I suppose one question got stuck in our mind. And so we thought – why not ask a few of our friends and see what their opinions were. And the answers we got were pretty unexpected and eye opening.

What does freedom means to you?

‘Freedom to me is not being judged by anybody.’
‘Freedom is being independent of everyone’
‘Freedom is playing soccer like as soon as I step in the field, I forget all my problems.’
‘Freedom is having 3 beers a day with my friends- legally.’
‘Freedom is living by my choices.’
‘Freedom is to do anything whatsoever, however, where ever and whenever – in short to be free as a bird.’
‘Freedom is being happy.’
‘Freedom is when my thought process calls it a day.’
‘Freedom is doing what I love.’
‘Freedom is no drama.’
‘Freedom is being myself – wild and spontaneous.’
‘Freedom is to love, live, laugh and roam free.’

Even though all these answers sum up mostly all we wanted to say but to put it in a nutshell  –

To us, freedom is being independent of everyone about everything. Freedom is having no outside influence on my thoughts and decisions. It also means to have the opportunity to do anything without any disruption or judgement. Freedom isn't being free, its feeling free from within yourself. Freedom is being able to be what you are, choosing what you want to do today, tomorrow, whenever. It’s the right to express yourself completely from head to toe.

So what does freedom mean to you?

Reminiscence

“Nothing is ever really lost to us as long as we remember it.”

-L.M. Montgomery , The Story Girl

We started scrapbooking as a hobby, only for it to turn into an obsession. It’s the easiest and the most creative way to catalogue your memories. It helps in retaining the fun times you have had in your life (plus it can always cheer you up on a low day!). It’s always a god reminder of how blessed we are to have such great family and friends to have such amazing memories with.
What is scrapbooking?
Scrapbooking is an activity to help you preserve memories in an imaginative and creative way. It is basically a more graphic version of your everyday journal! Scrapbooking is very freelanced, it can done be in any way that clicks in your mind. Here is how we did it:
Even though I use a very approachable and hands-on method, Akshita’s method is a tad bit more time consuming. I usually catalogue any day that I had fun on; it could even be a random day at the mall! Whereas Akshita likes to scrapbook more of the important people in her life and her dreams and aspirations. Even though it’s a an old pastime, it’s a very fun and interesting way to unleash your imaginative beast! J
What all do you need?
The basic supplies of scrapbooking are just simply some pens and papers, scissors, some glue and obviously your favourite pictures! For a more extensive kit one can use stickers, washi tapes( you’ll be amazed at the variety of patters available) , punches , lace , pattern papers and after this? Go wild with your imagination.

Dress Up Series : College LookBook II

Hey guys!

So as promised, here are two more looks for all you college going girls that are sure make you look amazing!

Don’t know about you guys, but we both share a common notion, and it simply is that we should feel confident in whatever we’re wearing. And these two outfits are one of those that would surely never go wrong.

As for the first one, we went with a simple pair of black leggings – an absolute favourite – with a printed crop top. This outfit is not only chic, but very comfortable for the season as well. Team this up neutral flats and accessorise as you like, and you’re good to go J

Leggings- Zara
Crop Top - Forever 21

Heart Shaped Pendant - Pantaloons

Akshita: I love this one so much! In fact this was my pick for my first day this year.

Watch - Titan
Sling Bag - Novelty

For the second look, we went with a great option. What’s summer without a summer dress, right? So here it is a little white summer dress. We added a hint of colour with spaghetti and accessorised with a simple long chain and a hair band to give it that girly touch.

Watch - Titan

Dress - H&M
Spaghetti - Honey
Chain - Asda UK
Hair Band - Lifestyle

The moral of this post simply is to keep it simple; let the clothes speak for themselves, and let your smile be the best accessory J

Dress Up Series : College LookBook I

Continuing with the ‘Back to College’ theme this week, we’ll be showing you some of our favourite ways to dress up for college. This post will be divided into two, and here you have the first one.  Hope these outfits inspire to look your best at college!

Here are some ideas to start this college semester with a splash of style. Wear it, love it, click it!

For the first look :

Casual and fun, shorts are for everyone. And no one can ever go wrong with stripes. It’s casual and playful for those simplistic days. Team them up with accessories of your choice, but keep it clean and you are good to go.

Tee Shirt - Benetton
Shorts - Lifestyle
Wedges - Venus
Necklace - Asda, UK

As for the second one:

Just for the days when you want to feel comfortable but not leave your style behind! Boyfriend jeans act as a perfect lower and a tank top with a comfy scarf can spice up your look.

Tank Top - Benetton
Boyfriend Jeans - Only
Sandals - Delcoo
Scarf - Flee Market
Watch - Titan

Sunglasses - Scott

For our third look:

As we all know, block colours are in and this colour just screams F-U-N! A denim shirt on the other hand is a must in every girl’s wardrobe. We paired it with a nude ballet flats as we didn't want the footwear to overpower the clothes and a quirky hair band gives the outfit an ‘oomph’ factor.

Denim Top - UCLA
Jeans - Vibe
Ballet Flats - Delco

Hair Band - Shopping expo

Watch - Titan Raga

So that's it for this post, do stay tuned for the second part!
